For 24 years I was a doctor, however I chose to retire in 2018. You see, in 2011, age 42, I had a stroke. I received medical care rapidly, I’ve had a remarkable recovery and it inspired me to improve my health and well-being. As a past doctor and patient of the system, I have profound respect for modern medicine. However, my journey taught me that prioritizing self-care is the cornerstone of good health and prevention of disease. Every aspect of health is important – nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress, having purpose – and they all influence each other. My focus as a health professional now is to empower other women to take charge of their health, so they achieve the healthy, happy body they deserve – now, and for their future.
